Rob Mariano emerged victorious...finally!

After four times on the show, the Survivor alum, 35, was crowned the champ of Nicaragua-based Survivor: Redemption Island -- snagging the $1 million prize -- on Sunday's finale.

This time it was an easy victory: Mariano earned eight of nine votes cast, beating out fellow finalists Phillip Sheppard and Natalie Tenerelli.

"I played my heart out," Mariano, a.k.a. "Boston Rob" told the Associated Press. He who competed (and lost) on previous seasons Marquesas, All-Stars and Heroes vs. Villains. "I love this game, but you've got to get lucky along the way, too. I know what it takes. It's really, really difficult. I'm really, really happy things happened the way they did this time."

Mariano and his wife Amber (they married in 2005 after meeting on the show) have two daughters: Lucia, 22 months, and Carina, 6 months.
